Sorry Abs, I love your work but this article isn't an opinion piece.
It is an article that features an interview with the game's creators. The only subjective element is the title, which might make it seem, at first instance, like an opinion piece however this is a common mistake to make if English is not your first language.
Comparison's of one product to a different product from yesteryear is regularly done in English as a form of shorthand so p...
Orientation of people shouldn't matter. However it is unrealistic to depict all NPCs as being fluid in their taste when most (not all) people prefer one gender. A better way to be inclusive is to feature NPCs who are straight and some who are gay.
Back in ye olde days working people would pay good money to fortune tellers to give them some insight about their future. The seers never gave definitive statements, they just said vague non-disprovable statements such as 'ye will experience some lows, and ye will experience some highs.' The working people would soak up this stuff because they wanted to, needed to believe in something.
As for industry insiders I really despair at these non leaks. Let me give you all ...
The Xb one version is less than 1080p so Microsoft is now funding extra development time to optimise it and make it 1080p because they know that there is now a public perception that the Xbone version is less powerful than PS4.
Phil Spencer is the right man for the job but he seems to be following Sony's PS4 modus operandi too closely. The '4 the Players' ad campaign worked really well for Sony. Now that Spencer is talking about a new direction you can practically hear him saying "Xbone the Players!"
@Jack_Reacher. The difference between DualShockers and Polygon is that Dualshockers is essentially a blog that has taken of and become successful (respect to them). Polygon has a ton of big money behind it. It was set up by Vox Media, one of the investors is smug-face Cliff Blezinski's brother. Pre-launch it also received $750,000 from Microsoft and after maybe more but no info has been released. It hired a ton of so called name staff and was giving them wages months before it even laun...
@Godmars290 Early last gen Microsoft's PR were lethal. They gave every 2-bob 'journalist' and blogger a complimentary 360, LIVE subscription and new games to review as well as major sponsorship of different channels they had every media outlet in their pocket. They paid for exclusive DLC and third party games to remain exclusive and demanded parity from developers. At the time Sony were making mistakes and assuming MS were behaving with the manners of gentlemen not realising the o...
Cross Buy for Microsoft platforms is a great idea as it means consumers don't have to pay multiple times for the same game just to use it on multiple devices. Sony has it, Apple does between iPad and iPhone (but not Mac) so it could help lock in Windows users to Xbone and stop them migrating to PS4 and iPad.
Sony have given units sold whilst XB one numbers from Microsoft are units. It's estimated that actual units sold is less than 3 million. People are being premature to say its 'game over'' for the Xbone because it will improve and go from strength to strength. However this generation there will be a larger sales gap between them and the current market leader.
I know Sony is killing it in the UK and Europe but am surprised to see them outselling Microsoft in the home country of the Xbox in the month of the Titanfall multi-million dollar PR campaign.
The most shocking thing is that PS4 figures are units SOLD whilst XBone are units SHIPPED. Microsoft have shipped 4 million but it's estimated that they have sold less than 3 million which is comparatively better than 360 at the same age but 50% less than PS4. These figures will h...
@choujij. Of course i'm having a joke! I'm just reiterating Microsoft's PR stats but unless you signpost it, N4G commentators miss it!
This proves that single player was cut for budgetary reasons, when all the spin said it was never meant to have one!
Xbone had more users stream Twitch on the first day it was available then any other next gen console had when Twitch was first available!
What an absolutely atrocious business idea. GAME well and truly ballsed up by accepting that sponsorship. They decided to make an Microsoft exclusive store that was focused on Xbox hardware and games... at a time when the the Xbone was nearly £80 quid more than the PS4 never predicting that the UK gaming map was turning blue. I went in the day after launch and it was chockabloc with people browsing but not really buying. I even saw one guy ask (I kid you not) if they sell PS3 games LOL! ...
I wonder if will be a PlayStation Plus game for May?
Exactly! Our friends in the USA don't love the sport enough to call it by its proper name Football, so it would not have made sense to release it there first. Bad karma to EA who write a long press release about the new FIFA without once mentioning football!
That's cool. I loved the Assassin's Creed IV soundtrack but £15 quid on top of the game was a bit much so this is a nice gesture especially as so many times companies like to nickel and dime the people who are their customers. It's a shame I'm not that much of a fan of it but I'll download it anyway!
Europe has already chosen its favourite next-gen console, the PS4 is doing THREE TIMES the business of the XB one which is crazy considering the amount Microsoft is spending on advertising. The figure I'm actually surprised about is the 3DS, it is still selling great, more than the 360 and Xbone put together. Nintendo has got this particular console right.
I'd like to be able to use my official PS3 remote with my PS4! I paid good money for it, it helps so much with Blu-ray playback and it should be pretty easy to implement.
All these lovely previews from Paris...
